Grandma Lutz's Visit

We were fortunate enough to have Jeremy's Mom come down to visit at the perfect time! She arrived the day that Gracie spiked a fever and ended up getting pretty sick with an ear infection.

She spiked a fever on Thursday night at Jeremy's soccer banquet. We were unable to get the fever to stay down over night and although she didn't act to out of sorts we decided that I would stay home Friday and take her to the doctor. The doctor checked here ears, throat and nose all were clear but her temp was still high even at the doctor after having tylenol. They decided to test her for the Flu, RSV and check her white blood count. The Flu and RSV tests came back negative but her WBC was 26,000 they become concerned when it goes over 15,000 so something was obviously going on in her little body. The doctor decided that we needed to try to find the bug. They needed urine to check for a UTI so the had to catiterize our little buttercup. They also drew her blood and gave her two shots of antibiotics to over all the bases. Her urine came back clear and the blood results would take a few days but they instructed us to keep giving tylenol and to come in on Saturday. Sure enough the checked her ears on Saturday and she had a full blown ear infection in her left ear. Gracie was a trooper. You would not have known she was sick if she didn't have the fever!

Luckily, Grandma was here to love on the sweet girl and we were still able to go celebrate my birthday with lunch out in Durham and to see Jersey Boys at the DPAC. It was a wonderful day!

Then Jeremy got sick! Gracie's little bug attacked her Daddy full force. What took her a few days to fight has taken him a few weeks. Grandma was in full blown nurse duty taking care of both my loves while I worked. Her timing could not have been more perfect. We did get to do a few things while she was here and we really did enjoy our time.

Here are a few pictures from the week.
