Rolling

Grace rolls over for the first time!

College Football

Apparently we are raising a future football fan.  Here is Grace watching College Football.

Is she really 3 months old today?

Are you sure she is 3 months today? It feels like she just got here, yet we have known her forever...oh and how much we have learned as parents in the past 3 months! Looking back I remember thinking the first month really wasn't that hard, now I don't know how we feed her ever 2 hrs around the clock, pumped and gave her a supplement. I am tired if I am up more than once in the middle of the night now!

Gracie has really become animated and interactive over the last month, and what a big month for her.

These pictures are getting harder to take the busier she gets.

What we know about Gracie at 3 Months:
-At 12 weeks she weighed in at a petite 10lb 14 oz (15%) and 24in (60%)-another weight check at the beginning of October. (FYI That is very close to the size Tara and Jeremy were when they were born)
-Gracie now sleeps from 8pm-6am most nights
-She loves to watch Praise Baby DVD on the big screen TV
-She can sit unassisted in her Bumbo seat
-Tummy time has become less of a hated time but still not her favorite.
-She will track toys with her eyes turning her head from side to side.
-Grace now smiles when she is fussing in her crib and one of us come to rescue her :)
-Grabbing and holding on to Mom's hair is a new favorite thing (ponytails are my new best friend)
-She will watch and talk to everyone we skype or facetime with ( I know her Grandparents love this development)
-Grace has learned to like her swing
-Slowly she is learning to take at lease one nap a day in her crib (Praise the Lord!)
- She has found her hands and her new party trick is to shove her whole fist in her mouth! Watch out for gagging.

2 Months

In the business of August I completely forgot to update the blog on her 2 month birthday. So since she is 3 months old today I thought I will give you both updates.

What we know about Gracie Girl after 2 Months:
- Grace adores the bath tub!
-She now smiles and talks (coos and goos and melts your heart)
-She is beginning to follow things with her eyes
-She loves to "stand" on our legs
-Naptime is not a favorite of hers, she fights fights fights it!
-Grace set her own bedtime between 7-8pm and will sleep till about 4am. Often waking around 1a for her paci and a snuggle
-Not a fan of Tummy time
-Loves to lay on her changing table and be naked.

Month 3 update to come this evening :)

Gracie on the Go: Michigan

On August 18th we packed up our 9 week old Gracie girl and headed for 10 days to Michigan to see lots and lots of family and friends.

Gracie did amazing on the plan trip there. She ate and slept and we could not have asked for it to go better.

After we arrived she had a very rough day. We now believe that her ears did not pop when we came down so she was in some discomfort most of Saturday.

Sunday we celebrated Jeremy's dads retirement with friends and family. It was a beautiful celebration of his many years in ministry and 28 years as Senior Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

We truly enjoyed our time with the Lutz family and loving on our nieces and nephews.

We left Tuesday the 28th to fly back to Raleigh. After a wonderful trip we had hopes that our flight how would be a smooth one. The trip started out great.
Snuggles with Daddy

Then Gracie decided 1/2 hr into the trip would be prime time to poop. I went to change her diaper on the middle seat that was open between us and quickly learned that that was a bad idea. Grace has not finished and exploded poop all over me and the plane seat. After a moment or two of staring at each other in bewilderment, Jeremy and I attempted to clean up the best we could. Grace was very proud of herself and a happy alert girl the rest of the flight....I however, was gross!
