7th Week Product Review
Since Jeremy and I have 6 friends and 2 family members expecting babies in the next year, I thought I would share a few of our favorite products that have made life these last 7 weeks a little easier.
1. Medela Pump In Style: Grace has had weight and feeding issues since birth and at 7 weeks she still takes a bottle supplement of pumped breast milk after almost ever feeding. Our little girl would have to have formula if it weren't for our pump. Best purchase we ever made!
2. Boppy Baby Lounger: We purchased this after Grace was born when we realized that she loved to sit up and look around. She will also nap in it during the day in the living room. Wonderful product.
3. MAM pacifiers: Gracie is picky about her Paci and only wants it when she wants it. MAM are the only ones that she will use. She will spit it out when she is finished our stick her tongue out at you if she doesn't want it.
4. Seventh Generation Diapers and Wipes: No Chemicals=No Diaper Rash. Jeremy is an Amazon Mom and gets these wonderful and eco friendly diapers for less than pampers or huggies at the store.
5. Aden and Anais Swaddles: AMAZING and CUTE. Gracie must be swaddled at night to sleep but don't dare think about pinning her left arm down.
6. Moby Wrap: Our little girl loves to be the life of a party already. Which means she struggles to nap during the day. 2 minutes in her Moby Wrap and she is out like a light. Plus my hands are free to grocery shop, clean, make lunch, fold laundry, throw Zukey's frisbee etc.
7. Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag: Its a splurge I know! But it makes public restroom diaper changes a snap (particularly when your daughter decides to puke all over The Gap). You will also find as a parent that not ever bathroom has a changing table and the built in cushioned changing pad makes changing her in awkward places easy.
8. Bouncy Chair: Grace is not a fan of the swing yet but her bouncy chair can be a life saver. We keep it in our bedroom and it is a great place to put her when I shower or pump. It also works wonders for our Gasey Grace when she fights going back to sleep at 4 am. 20 minutes of grunting in her crib can be solved by plopping her in her bouncy chair.
9. Boon Drying Rack: With all the bottles and pump accesories needing to be washed everyday, this stylish and space saving drying rack has gotten its use. Must get the tree accessory though to hold all the nipples and paci's.
10. Medela Bottles: Finally, the last one we learned last night. Parenting 101: do not try to give the baby a new while out to dinner with friends and 40 minutes from home. Grace has used Medela bottles since we started bottle supplements at day 4. We tried to get her to use an Avent Bottle last night and she refused. I guess I will be returning her other bottles and buying more Medela because like her paci she is particular and has picked her favorite.
So if you are having a baby or purchasing a baby gift these are a few of our favorite things. Every baby is different but in our opinion Gracie knows best :)

Wine 101- Parenting Our Way
Every Friday for the past few years we meet Jeremy's team and colleagues at Wine 101 across from his school for a drink. Wine 101 is actually a wine shop that happens to serve a few beers and wine by the glass. It is not technically a bar. Grace's first visit to Wine 101 was when she was one week and one day old. She has yet to miss a trip! Some say that is unbelievable (awesome) and some say she needs her own punch card. What we believe and continue to strive to do is make sure that by becoming parents we are not changing who we are. Grace adds to our lives.
So this Friday I packed up our little girl and headed to Wine 101 once again to meet Daddy and all our friends. 7weeks old and 7th trip to Wine 101. Pretty soon she will be running around taking orders :)
P.S. Joe the owner (has 2 daughters of his own) loves it and wouldn't have it any other way. Hopefully, the other patrons agree :)
